Control software development practices   (September 27, 1999)
I’ve been asked to write an article on control software development for an upcoming issue of a major control industry publication. The article relates mostly to embedded PCs, as opposed to the PLC/ladder world. I’m focusing on development practices, in particular how the tension is managed between schedules/budgets on the one hand, and safety/reliability on the other.

A mascot has been created for the LinuxPLC project which I propose we adopt as a symbol and logo: the Puffin! (a small sea bird with lots of personality)
