Pressure transmitters selection for a gasifier

I have to procure a pressure transmitter to mount on output of a gasifier (incenerator). Operating pressure is -20 mm WC & temperature is 1000 deg C. Gas contains 10% dust. What would be the length of the siphon requiered? Pipe size is 1000mm with 100mm thick refractory. Can anybody recommend Appliesens, Poland?

Any of the major manufacturers can supply a transmitter to suit your application. I suggest a DP cell with a span setting of 25 or 50 mm. You will need to mount the transmitter in a cooler location and tube to your measuring point. I expect you will use quite a large pipe, e.g. 50mm to connect to your flue with a short length of 1/2" tubing to the transmitter.

The trick is to prevent the tube from plugging, but you must know how to do that.

    Hello Roy,

Thanks for the reply. But could you elaborate on on this: "I suggest a DP cell with a span setting of 25 or 50 mm"? By span, do you mean the span of the pressure measured or something else? The pressure element is indeed a piezoresistive silicon cell. We were intending to use 50mm for connection to duct. Do you thing a diaphram seal can help to extend the life of the transmitter? I hope you will clarify.

    Regards,
